Fla. Forum Topic: Disappearing Markets, Looming Hurricanes

March 14, 2006

Challenges like disappearing markets, looming hurricanes and the quest to add more to the bottom line will all be addressed during a Professional Insurance Agents of Florida Member Forum on May 12 in Orlando at the Caribe Royale Resort.

The forum will feature roundtable discussions and networking, with the first event of the day providing insights directly from the CEOs of companies and government officials as they provide insight about the outcome of Florida’s legislative sessions and prepare for the hurricane season. A relaxed networking opportunity will follow during which participants can meet company representatives and learn how to do business with them.

During the lunch there will be a discussion of how to position your agency to succeed, followed by afternoon sessions.

The first afternoon session will be, “Can you afford to lose your E&O insurance?” This informative class will address coverage, claims and E&O prevention measures that stemmed from the 2004 and 2005 hurricane seasons, all in an easy-to-understand question-and-answer format.

The second afternoon session will be, “Niche marketing, case studies.” Agents will hear how others have taken struggling businesses and turned them into vibrant agencies. Emphasis will focus on what is really important, the customer.

The forum will wrap up with a relaxed session in which agents can network with fellow agents, company representatives and PIA of Florida staff.

Registration for the one-day Members Forum, is $100, and includes a continental breakfast, lunch, all sessions, breaks and a reception.

The day after the Members Forum, PIA of Florida will host its third annual golf tournament at the Mystic Dunes Golf Club, a four-star rated course in Orlando. Proceeds will benefit AGPAC.

More information on this event is available from PIA of Florida, 1390 Timberland Road, Tallahassee, FL 323412, (850) 893-8245. The group’s website is www.piafl.org.
