Lancashire Promoted to Main Street America V.P. of Claims

Jacksonville, Fla.-based Main Street America Group has promoted Mike Lancashire to vice president of claims. He replaces Steve Canty, who was recently appointed vice president of market research.

“Mike has 20 years of solid claims experience and will bring great value to our agent-customers and our policyholders in his new role leading our claims division,” Tom Van Berkel, Main Street America president and CEO said. Lancashire will report to Van Berkel and remain based in Jacksonville.

Lancashire joined Main Street America in 2003, when he was hired as its technical claims director. In August 2005, he was named its director of claims product.

Prior to joining Main Street America, Lancashire was at Kemper Insurance for 17 years in management positions in its claims division, including regional claim manager and senior branch claim manager.

It provides property and casualty insurance products, programs and services, with nearly $900 million in direct premium written exclusively by more than 1,300 independent insurance agents.
