Gee anyone have a clue as to why these bills would be shot down?

Maybe it’s because they would cost too many votes?

Those who don’t think this is a problem are probably the few who haven’t almost been hit by somebody more concerned with their conversation than driving. problem… drivers using cell phones should be

Some people can talk and drive, many can not. Should we restrict those that can talk (not text) safely. ON the other hand I had a semi pull out in front of me today as the driver was on his cell. There has got to be a way to stop poor talker/drivers or they pay! Young people are inexperienced to start, they need to concentrate on the road, not their phone!

Sorry Sandman, I have to disagree, at least to an extent. Yes some people are better than others at talking and driving, but with as crazy as most drives are these days and distraction is a problem.

Maybe the key is to set up no Cell Zones. You get out in the middle of nowhere where there isn’t a lot of traffic (if there is still such a place) and cell phone use is allowed, but inside city limits or in high traffic areas… no cell phones.

DWT, I like the no cell phone zone idea if it could be set up in such a way that it does not prevent 911 calls from these zones.
