Employers Offers 5% Workers’ Comp Discount for Florida Businesses

By | December 14, 2011

Some small businesses in Florida will see an automatic 5 percent discount on their workers’ compensation policies through a new program offered by Employers Holdings, Inc.

The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation has approved a program by Employers, which will allow employers purchasing or renewing policies as of Jan. 1, 2012, a 5 percent upfront savings on their premiums. The 5 percent savings will be on top of the statewide average 8.9 percent increase approved by regulators, which takes effect at the beginning of the year.

In addition to other dividend programs offered by Employers, members of the National Federation of Independent Business-Florida Chapter can take an additional 5 percent flat dividend on the back end.

Employers Holdings Inc., is a holding company with subsidiaries that provide workers’ compensation coverage to small businesses engaged in low-to-medium hazard industries. Coverage is offered through Employers Insurance Co. of Nevada, Employer Compensation Insurance Co., Employers Preferred Insurance Co., and Employers Assurance Co.
