Bikes want to share the road… then they should use lights at night, STOP at all stop signs, move over so one can pass properly, etc. Bicyclists are famous for complaining about cars, but act like they are all perfect. If you want to share the roads, you should have to pay for a plate and tag every year. Otherwise, stick to the parks, non-busy streets, and bike paths. Some cities have absolutely terrible bicyclists who do not pay attention to red lights, stop signs, etc. Then they complain when hit. I also see drunks riding bikes in the night life districts of cities, that doesn’t help either!
Most of the riders have cars so they pay the same as everyone else. The bikes cause less wear on the roads than cars so we are in fact extending the life of the roadway when we ride our bikes.

tell me again how much in fuel taxes, and therefor maintenance costs of the roads, do bike riders pay???
