Sounds like a great idea. We just have 4 owners to protect our employees from perps. I think that is adequate.

    A few unanticipated results:
Their retention rate should increase. Policyholders will now be afraid to leave.
Employee salary increases will go up. There are more armed staff than owners.
Insurance companies will be afraid to drop the agency or drop the agency’s commission levels if there is a lack of production.

The agency should play up the safety angle in their advertising.

“The agency that packs together, protects your backs together”.

Hey Jack, we may be missing an opportunity to sell more gun floaters to our legal, registered clients. They may have more value in guns than their wives Jewelry floater. Give a discount to NRA members.

…an increase in their E&O premium?

Insurers should probably start factor into their E&O policies that office employees carry guns.

It would be their GL. a discount – especially in Chicago – would be the ticket.

FFA, I am afraid poor “fun” has no concept of the difference in GL and E&O. I really think that if a shooter entered an office with the intent to kill people and an employee shot in self defense, no jury would convict them. They would probably get a medal from the mayor.

Love the article- and why not, if each of the individual employees is for the idea and concept.
No one should wish to be a victim, unless you’re a sappy liberal that believes a gun is to blame and not the ‘poor perpetrator who somehow should be considered a victim, too, due to society’s “unfairness”………’
