Gary Mendoza, Republican nominee for Insurance Commissioner, recently captured the endorsement of the San Diego Union-Tribune.
The Tribune called Mendoza a “tough negotiator,” referring to his actions in the fight for the creation of two charitable foundations when Blue Cross converted from non-profit to for profit status and stated that Mendoza would bring the “same brand of toughness in dealing with” the insurance industry.
HispanicVista praised Mendoza, saying, “[We are] endorsing Gary Mendoza for Insurance Commissioner because he is the man of destiny for California and the Hispanic community…. He has earned the reputation of being pro consumer, honest, truthful and competent.”
