June 13, 2005

Northern California insurance agencies INB Insurance Services Corporation and Garland-Sturges & Quirk Insurance Services Inc., announced they have formed a new insurance agency cluster. The cluster, to be called INB-GSQ Insurance Services Inc., will provide insurance services locally, nationally and internationally. The newly formed cluster plans to share markets, marketing efforts and expertise allowing it to become more successful for their clients while also increasing profitability.

“Sharing markets and best practices will make our agencies more profitable and more effective in assisting our clients in the community,” said Chuck Andrist, president for INB-GSQ. “We look forward to the joint marketing efforts of our two agencies and down the road the cluster hopes to bring in other agencies with similar values and vision.”

“We spent many months working out all the details and we are very excited with the results,” said Tom Quirk, vice president for INB-GSQ. “This alliance will benefit our clients and our agencies, which is a win-win situation for everyone. It will also enable us to write more new business and increase our overall profitability.”

Founded in 1988 by Chuck Andrist and Craig Hulse, INB offers a wide range of insurance services including general liability, property, automobile, workers compensation and bonds. The company specializes in commercial insurance coverage but does also offer other services including group health programs, life, personal automobile, and homeowner coverages. Due to its volume of business, INB maintains preferred relationships with many major carriers allowing it to offer its customers complete insurance packages at competitive prices. The company’s corporate office is located in Los Gatos, California.

Garland-Sturges & Company was formed in 1964 when the agencies of Richard H. Garland and Raymond E. Sturges formed a partnership. Tom Quirk and Craig Sturges joined Garland-Sturges & Company in 1977 and 1980 respectively and subsequently formed Garland-Sturges & Quirk Insurance Services, Inc. (GSQ) in 1986. Located in San Jose, California, GSQ offers a comprehensive line of insurance service coverage locally, nationally and internationally.

The newly formed INB-GSQ Insurance Services will maintain office locations in Los Gatos and San Jose. The new corporate officers for the cluster are Chuck Andrist, president; Tom Quirk, vice president; Craig Sturges, secretary; and Craig Hulse, treasurer. The new cluster will be accepting new independent agencies into the cluster that share their company’s values and mission.
