Nonprofits Insurance Alliance Group Founder Honored as Top Boss

September 27, 2005

FORTUNE Small Business and Winning Workplaces recently announced its 2005 list of Best Bosses.

Pamela Davis, founder, CEO and president of the Nonprofits Insurance Alliance Group headquartered in Santa Cruz, Calif., was named one of the 15 Best Bosses for 2005. The finalists were selected from a group of 100 nominees.

The panel of judges evaluated employee satisfaction, investment in workers, employee benefits as well as other measures. Nominees were subjected to a 360-degree performance review by judges talking with customers, financial and legal advisors, board members, and randomly selected employees about the nominee’s management style and philosophy.

“Receiving this award is a great honor, but the real praise goes to our terrific staff, management and boards of directors who have so patiently and painstakingly helped me to understand what it means to be a leader. It is a privilege to work with such a wonderful group in service to the best customers in the world-nonprofit organizations,” said Davis, on her receiving the award.

The Nonprofits Insurance Alliance Group is comprised of four companies employing 55 staff: Alliance Member Services (AMS); Alliance of Nonprofits for Insurance, Risk Retention Group (ANI-RRG); National Alliance of Nonprofits for Insurance (NANI) and the Nonprofits’ Insurance Alliance of California (NIAC). All companies in the Nonprofits Insurance Alliance Group are 501(c)(3) nonprofits focused on providing stable liability insurance to nonprofits.

Currently writing in 19 states plus D.C., the Nonprofits Insurance Alliance Group insures more than 6400 nonprofits and in 2005 will reportedly write nearly $60 million in premium.
