Seattle-based Safeco has launched its Teensurance program nationally, providing online tools for teen drivers and their families. According to the company, the goal is for the technology to help families have conversations with their teens about the responsibilities and experience needed for safe driving.
Teensurance tools include on on-board GPS and notification technology, set speed, distance and curfew limitations, and real- time notification of teens’ driving, so parents can determine if their children are in danger. Parents can also use the tools to set safe driving zones, unlock a car door remotes, access 24/7 roadside assistance, and download parent/teen contract and educational materials.
“Teensurance is a proactive solution to help our customers keep their families safe on the road, and the first in a series of Safeco innovations that push beyond traditional insurance to impact our customers on a broad scale,” said Jim Havens, vice president of consumer solutions.
Teensurance is available to customers with Safeco auto insurance policies. For more information, visit www.teensurance.com/.
