Marjorie Segale has been promoted to president of Insurance Skills Center (ISC), a Pleasanton, Calif.-based education company owned by IBA West Service Corp.
“Marjorie has held key positions with ISC since she was hired in 1989,” said Insurance Brokers and Agents of the West CEO, Clark Payan. “I am delighted to welcome Segale in her new role. Her experience will provide a smooth leadership transition for the organization.”
Segale succeeds the ISC leadership team of Patty Gibson Carlson and Laurie Infantino, co-founders of ISC.
As President of Insurance Skills Center, Segale’s responsibilities include management of overall operations, development of courses, supervision of instructors and design and implementation of ISC programs. Segale has an extensive insurance background, both practical and academic, and has earned several professional designations including, certified insurance specialist in construction; agriculture and farm insurance specialist; registered professional liability underwriter; certified insurance counselor; construction risk and insurance specialist; accredited customer service representative; and certified insurance service representative.
Segale began her insurance career in 1973 at an independent insurance agency where she worked as office manager, commercial and personal lines manager. Five years later she founded her own firm, Segale Insurance Services, in 1978 in northern California. In 1989 she sold the agency and joined ISC as an instructor. In 1992 she was promoted to director of education and in 2004 she became vice-president where she has been responsible for developing ISC conference and classroom curriculums. Segale is a nationally recognized instructor, author of more than 300 insurance courses, and provides expert witness services.
