The death is ruled a homicide but no charges are made? Ludicrous!!

What??? Why did he call police? So they could arrest him? This story is really confusing. So he thought he was a public menace and wanted to be taken away to get help? I’m so confused.

Interesting, but poorly written article. A few more facts would be wonderful thing.

Jim Dooley at the Hawaii Reporter is reporting that police responded following a series of early morning calls between Torres and 911 operators where he said he needed assistance. Torres, reported as 5’6″ and 160 pounds with a slight build, was unarmed and held face-down on the ground by three uniformed officers in a confrontation lasting 15-30 minutes. Witnesses reported while “people were screaming out to stop, leave him alone and don’t do that,” one officer held the back of Torres’ legs, another held his hands behind his back, and a third had his arm around Torres’ neck. Shortly after Torres died, police said he had been restrained to prevent him from harming himself.

So it was OK for the officers to harm him? Once, he was restrained, why would they keep him face down on the ground?
