Is it really necessary to do these speeds? I don’t care how flat the land is or for how many miles! Or is this a case of another elected official trying to justify his job?!?!?!!

Can anyone imagine sailing along at 85 MPH texting on the cell all the way? Will safety be compromised at all?

If you’re so concerned about people texting & driving being a liability, why aren’t you for driver-less cars?

It has been my experience that whatever the speed limit is, people will exceed it by 5-10 MPH. Should make for some spectacular wrecks.

Its all good. You can drive thru big chunks of NV and not be able to pick up a cell signal. Worst part of driving thru the state is the boredom-thought KS was bad, but NV is a very boring state to drive thru

The info on which state have a maximum above 75 mph is incorrect.

    Today Utah(80), Idaho(80), Wyoming(80) and Texas(85) have maximums above 75 mph.

Currently Missouri, Mississippi, South Dakota, and Montana all have bills currently going through their legislature in an attempt to raise the maximums to 80 mph.

I live in Texas and we have 75 MPH on the Interstates. Perhaps there are some toll roads with higher limits.

Agent – I-10 in Western Texas has a limit of 85 MPH for a pretty long stretch and it is toll free. I set my cruise right on 85 and there were still cars passing me – had to be going at least 95.
