Westbrook, CT, August 13, 2015- Maritime Program announces three new hires to their recreational marine division; naming Roger Carbonier as a Vice President and Director of Recreational Marine, Michael Luu as Commercial Marine Underwriter and Maria Lawrence as West Coast Yacht Underwriter.
Roger comes to MPG with a diverse and unique background in the industry, working the last 16 years in the marine reinsurance business with positions ranging from underwriting to most recently, brokerage at JLT Re. As Director of Recreational Marine, Roger will oversee the growth and production of MPG’s national recreational marine portfolio which includes marinas, boat dealers, yacht clubs and boat builders.
Michael began his career in claims with the Hartford and spent his last three years as an underwriter focused on small commercial accounts. As a Commercial Marine Underwriter for MPG he will be focused on production for the recreational marine portfolio. Both Roger and Michael are residents of the Connecticut shoreline and will be based out of MPG’s home office in Westbrook, CT.
Maria brings with her 15 years of insurance experience, 13 of which she focused specifically on marine insurance while working with a large national marine wholesaler. Maria is based out of Stockton, CA and will be working with MPG’s West Coast brokers to underwrite boats and yachts with New Hampshire Insurance Company and with Markel American.
