Industry and labor groups said the Senate was focused on a compromise cap for fear the issue would become a ballot measure, which could cause the state workers’ compensation system to “fall apart.”

Number of automobile insurance claims California lawmakers have filed for state-issued vehicles in the past two years, costing taxpayers nearly $90,000, according to The Associated Press. Among the causes for the claims were roadway debris, vandalized vehicles, and being the victims of other drivers.
