The Strategic Independent Agents Alliance (SIAA), a national insurance agency distribution network, announced that Cuave Insurance Agency/Sovereign Insurance Group (SIG) of Winnsboro, La., has established Southern Insurance Group of Louisiana as a strategic master agency of SIAA. Cuave Insurance Agency of Winnsboro was founded in 1994. It joined Sovereign Insurance Group of Dallas, Texas—in existence since 1983—to operate Southern Insurance Group of Louisiana. Neville Cuave, President of Cuave Insurance Agency, said the group has been “been looking for a way to create a new profit center without incurring the costs of additional personnel.” He anticipated that the SIAA’s networking concept would provide his agency a way of accomplishing its goals. As a master agency of SIAA, the Southern Insurance Group will be able to bring SIAA advantages to smaller agencies in its region that seek to retain their independence, according to SIAA chairman James A. Masiello. SIAA benefits include additional markets and commission/profit sharing overrides and growth bonuses to network members. SIAA encompasses 163 Strategic Master Agency territories throughout 44 states, and serves 810-plus independent strategic members, including independent insurance agencies, direct writers and captive agencies.
