Louisiana Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco appointed Sharon Buchanan Robinson as the new State Inspector General to lead the state’s efforts to prevent waste, mismanagement, abuse, fraud and corruption in the executive branch of state government. The Office of Inspector General conducts investigations without regard to partisan politics, allegiances, status, or in¾uence.
Robinson, who is a Certified Public Accountant, has worked in state government for nearly 30 years.
Robinson leaves the Office of the Legislative Auditor where she has worked in various roles since 1989. Most recently, she served as an assistant legislative auditor and director of advisory services. In that role, her duties included providing advisory services to state and local governments, local government audits, and tax review services. Prior to her service at the Office of the Legislative Auditor, Robinson held positions in the Division of Administration, the Office of State Buildings and Grounds and the Department of Revenue and Taxation, respectively.
