The Excess Line Association of New York has appointed Jasmin Chen Johnson as financial director. She will be responsible for conducting financial analysis, review and monitoring of all New York-eligible excess line insurers. She has over 15 years of experience in financial planning, operations, budgeting and financial reporting. She also has experience in developing and implementing insurance financial systems, strategies and procedures.

Houston-based HCC Insurance Holdings Inc.appointed Pauline R. Morley as senior vice president of Professional Liability at its Professional Indemnity Agency (PIA) subsidiary. Prior to joining PIA, she oversaw the Miscellaneous Professional Liability Product line at Travelers. She began her insurance career at Western World Insurance Group in 1987 where she ultimately managed all professional liability lines as vice president of marketing and underwriting for Tudor Professional. She will be based in New York.

The Northeastern New York Chapter of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters Society has elected Laura M. Kelly as its president. Kelly is director of Best Practice Compliance/Insurance Industry Liaison at Goldberg Segalla. Other officers elected for 2010-2011 are: Vice President Laura P. Santo, Amica Mutual Insurance Co.; Secretary Elaine Bortell, Sterling Insurance Co.; Treasurer Ram Boodram, State Farm Insurance; New Designee Chair John N. New York-based brokerage and risk management firm Integro appointed Jennifer Romano as managing principal, based in New Jersey. She will manage complex placements and risk consulting services for healthcare clients throughout New Jersey and the Tri-state area. Romano brings more than three decades experience in healthcare professional liability program design with a focus on integrated healthcare delivery systems. She was pivotal in designing and implementing the first Risk Retention Group for a health care entity in New Jersey. She joins the firm from Marsh & McLennan.

New York City-based Kornreich-NIA has hired Michael A. Salvadore as vice president of business development. Salvadore has 16 years experience in risk management, property and casualty insurance and employee benefits, and he has held posts at Willis, Allied North America and Aon. Kornreich-NIA is a Marsh & McLennan Agency company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Marsh.

Massachusetts-based Arbella Insurance Group has appointed Jim Hyatt as vice president of personal lines. Hyatt will oversee Arbella’s Personal Lines group, which generates more than $450 million in annual premiums. He joins Arbella from The Hanover Insurance Group, where he worked for the past six years. He most recently served as vice president and national sales director for Personal Lines across the company’s 20 states.

The Rhode Island Chapter of the National Association of Insurance Women has elected Kim Cabral as its new president. Other officers for the organization are Vice President Gail Marsigliano, Treasurer Debra A. Quinlivan and Secretary Joan A. Harnish. Linn Butler, Deborah L. Crowell and Peg Davis have been named directors for the group, and Joan Fury has been named parliamentarian.

The Maine Chapter of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters Society has elected Scott Miller as its president. Miller is director of premium audit services at Acadia Insurance Co.
