Aon Consulting has named Shelly Blackstone as vice president of business development in its Richmond, Virginia office. In her new role, Blackstone will develop new products and services clients in Central and Southern Virginia. Prior to joining Aon Consulting, she served as senior management specialist for the County of Henrico Health Plan in Virginia and as a vice president of sales and account management with Coventry Health Care.

Additionally, Paul J. Mack has been promoted to health and benefits practice leader. He joined Aon in 1984, first serving as a senior consultant before assuming his most recent position as client account manager. In his new role, he is responsible for delivering the portfolio of Aon human capital services to its clients in Central and Southern Virginia

The Hartford has named Andy Napoli president of its Consumer Markets division. Napoli will lead The Hartford’s plan to grow its AARP auto and homeowners insurance program, as well non-AARP business. He will also lead The Hartford’s efforts to improve customer service and ensure greater efficiency in The Hartford’s newly centralized enterprise operations group. He also will collaborate closely with The Hartford’s new Digital Commerce team to enhance the Consumer Markets business model. Napoli spent the last decade managing consumer insurance businesses and operations, including serving in a variety of product, pricing and claims roles at Progressive and Nationwide. He was most recently with the CUNA Mutual Group, an insurance company focused on serving Credit Unions across the country.

Pennsylvania-based Erie Indemnity Co. has appointed two executive vice presidents. John F. Kearns has been appointed to the newly created position of executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. He will oversee the company’s Sales & Agency and the Strategic Marketing divisions. George “Chip” D. Dufala has been named executive vice president of Services. In this role, also new to the company, Dufala will oversee the Claims and Corporate Services divisions. Kearns joined the company in 2007 as senior vice president and division officer of Commercial Lines Underwriting. He began his career in the insurance industry in 1976 at Sun Alliance in Dublin, Ireland. A native of Dublin, Kearns served as chief executive officer of St. Paul Ireland, and also served as president of financial and professional services at St. Paul Travelers. Dufala previously served as senior vice president of Erie Family Life Insurance Co., a member of the Erie Insurance Group of companies. He joined Erie in 1993 in field operations and has since held several leadership positions, including regional vice president and senior vice president of customer service operations.

In addition, Eric Root will succeed Kearns in leading Erie’s commercial operations. Root joined ERIE in 1993, and most recently served as senior vice president and branch manager for field operations throughout northwestern Pennsylvania.

The Insurance Agents & Brokers, a partnership of agents’ associations in Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania has elected new directors.

Chairman David Rosenkilde, of ABCO/ICS Insurance Services Inc., in Reisterstown, Maryland, and Vice chairman Robert B. Hall, of Francis Hall Insurance & Risk Management Services in West Chester, Pennsylvania, will lead the board of the Insurance Agents & Brokers Service Group. The Delaware Association of Insurance Agents & Brokers has elected Chairwoman Diana Hornung-Momot, of Thomas J. Hornung & Associates in Wilmington, Delaware. Insurance Agents & Brokers of Maryland has elected Chairman King W. “Kip” White Jr., of American Insurance Outlet Inc. in Fallston, Maryland, and Vice Chairman Henry “Butch” Bradley Jr., of The Pennoyer Group Inc. in Crofton, Maryland. The Insurance Agents & Brokers of Pennsylvania has named as Chairman Timothy P. Burris, of Sausman Insurance Agency in Thompsontown, Pennsylvania and as Vice Chairman G. Greg Gunn, of Gunn-Mowery in Lemoyne, Pennsylvania.
