Commerce National Insurance Services, a subsidiary of Commerce Bancorp, announced that it had agreed to acquire New Jersey-based Brettler Financial Group. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“BFG specializes in product liability and other essential lines of insurance coverage for cutting edge firms working in the life science field, particularly focusing on biotechnology research and development,” said the announcement.
CNIS Plans to expand its “portfolio of commercial insurance products and services” in the rapidly growing biotechnology and life science sector.
Daniel Brettler, BFG’s founder and president, stated that “joining Commerce is an excellent opportunity for BFG. Commerce will provide the financial strength and organizational resources that will enable us to expand our business and enhance our specialized insurance services.”
