CNA Develops Three-in-One Approach to Non-Medical Insurance Coverage in Mass.

August 29, 2003

Chicago-based CNA announced a new approach to providing non-medical group insurance benefits to businesses of any size. The “Flexible Protection Plan(SM) enables Massachusetts employers to provide benefit funds in the event of total disability, terminal illness or death – three benefits in one plan designed for full-time employees who might not have or be able to afford these types of coverages,” said the announcement.

CNA said it “developed the plan after conducting extensive research to determine the most critical insurance coverage concerns facing lower income employees. Three common themes emerged: concerns about rising medical costs, the possibility of serious injury or accident, and, in the face of tragedy, the need to provide for loved ones.”

“By creating a single benefit from which three coverages are drawn, our Flexible Protection Plan gives employees affordable access to more extensive insurance coverage at favorable group rates,” stated William Seyboth, president and COO of CNA Group Benefits. “This is one of CNA’s many cutting edge products which are tailored to meet the needs of small, medium and large businesses.”

CNA said the “Flexible Protection Plan is available in all U.S. states except Connecticut, New Jersey and New York,” and that more information can be obtained from any local CNA Group Sales office or at: 800-262-3039.
