Kevin O’Connor, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that Lee Ann Kiley, 44, formerly of Stamford and currently residing in Riverside, was sentenced by Senior United States District Judge Alan Nevas in Bridgeport to two years of probation. On Oct. 6, 2005, Kiley pleaded guilty to one count of health care fraud.
According to court documents, Kiley submitted false information to her health insurance company, Guardian Life Insurance Company of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and obtained reimbursement from Guardian for medical treatments Kiley never received. As part of her plea, Kiley admitted defrauding Guardian of $85,983.70 over more than two years.
As a result of her conviction, Kiley is required to pay full restitution to Guardian.
O’Connor praised Guardian for their prompt referral of the fraud and their assistance with the investigation.
