CLEARY THE DIRECT WRITERS HAVE BOUGHT AND PAID FOR THE MARKET. THE COMMISSIONER COULD SEEMS MORE INTERESTED IN HELPING THOSE WHO ARE NOT HERE AT THE EXPENSE OF THOSE WHO ARE AND HAVE BEEN.

She is a very bright lady who, appropriately, decided that it is time to stop making decisions that simply support the status quo of Mass Auto being an “insider’s game”. The more that the regulation of Mass Auto looks like it does in other states, the more competition there will be, and the more benefits will flow to consumers. So, if you’re a member of the insiders club who are used to gaming the system in order to keep out the competition, you’d better batten down the hatches and get ready. If you don’t believe me, just look at Arthur’s move to cash out — and nobody is claiming he’s a dumbarse, are they?

Right, dumbarse. There are no direct writers in mass. Think again.

there’s a difference between fair competition and issuing what turns out to be “free money” to those poor starving direct writers…wonder how that deal got cut? talk about an insider’s game?
