This has to be the luckiest guy in the world: He survived the crash, he didn’t die from the alcohol, and he got an incredibly light sentence. Next we’ll be reading that he hit the Mega Millions.
Although the sentence is light, he was also the subject of much publicity, ridicule and the butt of many jokes including ones from Jay Leno. Hopefully, he is ashamed and learned his lesson – my family and I drive on the same RI roads each day.
Considering the grossly excessive BAC the judge should have rejected a plea of “no contest”. If this doesn’t warrant a guilty plea what does. Of course this spineless jellyfish doesn’t have the stones to plead guilty. I wonder if he had prior DWI’s. Restitution for the damage to the highway sign should be included in his sentence. They should stencil his BAC on his car to let people know of his accomplishments.
We lost Bon Scott from ACDC, John Bonham from Led Zeppelin, and Steve Clark from Def Leppard, all because of alcohol poisoning, and THIS schmuck is ok?
Mr. Ko-Beer-owski desperatey needs referral to a State mandated 2 year program of classroom instruction, group therapy and required 12 step attendance similar to that on California’s SB 38 Program (now in it’s 30th successful year)
it is incontravertable that, if he can not gain and maintain long term sobriety, he will soon reoffend
And, oh yes, about 180 days in the County sneezer to dry out before his ‘out patient’ treatment begins.
Without the above intervention (or any intervention from what I can tell) he will be back out on the roadways soon enough and, drunk again, might not be so lucky next time
He probably woke up that day and realized he lived in Central Falls.
