Just curiously, what would the sentence be if someone broke into six houses and stole $56,000?

Yeah, a sentence of 9 months means he’ll be out in 5 months. And how much you want to bet he’ll do it again?!

was he even charged for killing the woman?
Vehicular manslaughter, at least, not to mention 2nd dgree murder? How about 1st degree? Since it WAS premeditated fraud….there outta be a law…..

I don’t believe the guy being discussed had anything to do with that crash after re-reading the article.

Quoting the article “Since a staged crash in 2003 in Lawrence killed a 65-year-old woman, the state has cracked down on auto insurance fraud, particularly in Lawrence, the epicenter of the problem.”

That particular incident appears to have been the trigger for increased investigation of & prosecution of insurance fraud. Which is why/how this guy got caught.

Guaranteed he did… if only via higher insurance rates. Have to agree with the others though, 9 months seems to a very short sentence for the amount of money involved.
