The dmv is a joke in this state. It never seems to be open when you need it, they charge fees for EVERYTHING imaginable and to top it all off, you get to wait for hours while pissed off employees who clearly hate their jobs, makes your life miserable.
As far as raising taxes is concerned….no thanks. CT is among the highest taxed states in the country. Paying $700/yr property tax on a car is enough! (not even including tax on your home!) Get rid of the DMV and you’ll hear a collective sigh of relief from CT residents.
I agree. The DMV was awful when I left the state 10 years ago.. What a change when I moved to a new state. Friendly employees, reasonable hours and short waits. Maybe the good people of the state of CT ought to rethink their government in general.. Clearly they aren’t getting it done.
Let’s just hope they don’t send any of the DMV employees to work at the Dept. of Insurance. They are slow and back logged as it is! It will only make it worse!
When I lived in Idaho, each county’s sheriff’s office handled the DMV function and were, in most cases, much easier to deal with than your typical DMV office. Of course, California is a whole nother story!!
I’ve know someone who got their marriage license at the DMV in Colorado and thought it was a great experience. Maybe having DMV duties done by people doing other more pleasant tasks will cause them to be friendlier.
Let’s move the Connecticut Motor Vehicle Department under the Office of National Motor Vehicles under the Office of National Insurance, Under the Department of Justice, headed by the Tax Evasion Czar.

If we eliminate the DMV in CT, where will our illegals buy their drivers licenses?

If you are going to eliminate all of the Democraps from CT; send them to Chicago! They’ll fit in well with “Scary Barry’s” friends:)
