The senator is proposing legislation for the wrong reasons: level the playing field, payment of taxes, no overhead, etc. The landscape contractors should have liability insurance to protect themselves against claims or lawsuits that could be made against them. The insurance policy will also provide for legal defense in the event that the contractor is not negligent but still has to defend himself in the event of a lawsuit. The minimum should be at least $500,000, not $100,000 as the senator proposes. Lastly, insurance should be provided so that the injured party could be reimbursed for bodily or property damages.

I love it when these lawmakers use outdated terminology “public Liability” and creates a nightmare for people like me. Soon everyone comes running for a public liability policies and the bureaucrats won’t accept anything but “public liability policies” Only England and Australia use these terms. Oivay
