Many, many years ago I worked at a factory that used large paper rolls that were pulled into machines. The company put in safety devices that would shut off the machine if anything thicker than paper hit the rollers. Since these safety devices are common and well known about I would agree that any company that didn’t have them put their employees in harms way intentionally. It is a very common safety device that was around 20 years ago.
The question is how many companies have removed safety devices on machines so that the machines work faster. It’s kind of naive to think that there are companies that don’t put profit over safety
“Intentional safety violations”? The reporter makes it sound like the company wanted to injure their employees.
