XL Group’s insurance segment hired three new inland marine underwriting managers.
The new executives are: Anne Marie Elder as senior vice president, inland marine; Virginia Cameron as senior vice president, marine; and Alexander McGinley as vice president, marine underwriting. Based in Hartford, Conn., they are tasked with expanding XL’s inland marine coverage and building its marine insurance business.
Elder joins XL from The Hartford where she was assistant vice president of marine strategy, operations and underwriting. She was responsible for the development and execution of strategic and tactical initiatives to drive growth and profit within the marine segment. In addition to her underwriting management tenure with The Hartford, she honed more than 20 years of marine underwriting experience in various underwriting management positions with Atlantic Mutual and the Marine Office of America Corp. (MOAC).
Cameron joins from Travelers Ocean Marine Division, where she served as chief underwriting officer, responsible for underwriting, product management, strategy, and training. During her tenure with Travelers Marine Division and its predecessor entity, Atlantic Mutual Marine Division, Cameron held a number of underwriting and regional management positions, managing books of business that ranged from cargo to brownwater hull and liability.
McGinley joins XL from The Hartford, where as a marine underwriting officer he was responsible for underwriting insurance coverages from renewable energy, equipment dealers/rental operations, ocean cargo, and motor truck cargo industries.
