Since when is snow in NH a disaster? Gov. is just trying to weasel-away money from the fed’s to make up budgetary shortfalls that HE CAUSED. Yes there was snow. Yes, trees fell down and Yes there were electricity outages…. But NH folks are hardy, and took it in-stride. If you asked them if this pissant storm qualified as a “disaster” that required federal help, I think most would say No.

Topcat, perhaps you should be infomed before writing stuff. The NH governor did not set the budget this year. The NH republican party is now run by the tea party and free staters. They decided the state would only raise a certain amount of revenue so they worked a budget to fit their projections. Rep. Gene Chandler started whining about the decrease in road money…. sorry guys, you can’t have it both ways.. reduce funding, receive less service. Reality was not part of the process. I certainly don’t think the 22.2″ of snow my family in Concord received was insignificant but they didn’t lose power. Dem. Gov. John Lynch is the most popular governor NH has had in decades…even the republicans loved him and voted for him over John Stevens…there must be a reason!
