The Chautauqua County Office of Emergency Services says tornadoes that touched down in three western New York communities a week ago caused $760,300 in property damage.
The tornadoes touched down in the village of Fredonia and the towns of Pomfret and Westfield on Nov. 14 as a line of severe thunderstorms developed west of Buffalo and sped across the western Southern Tier.
The National Weather Service says the storms also caused additional straight wind damage in Chautauqua and Allegany counties. The storms damaged a number of barns, outbuildings, and homes.
Local officials have invited residents affected by the storm to a meeting Monday evening in Westfield to discuss what type of assistance might be available. Damage estimates were shared with the State Office of Emergency Management.
