This is a start. Ultimately, though, the entire national “robo-signing” settlement efforts have got to be ditched. Look, on the mortgage-holder’s side of the ledger, crimes were committed and, guess what, the perps are being pursued. For example, just this past August, the Florida U.S. Attorney alone charged 27 people with mortgage fraud. As a matter of public policy, no matter how apparently compelling the pragmatic reasons to make the overhang go away, the crimes that the lending and loan servicing industry committed must be pursued with equal intensity. It is toxic to our system of justice to effectively pardon one class of criminals and not another.

Do you think those being investigated will start to squirm when they see the actual probes and realize where they’ll be probing?

Thanks OPOV. I have to say I admire you. I rarely agree with you on the politicval side, though you have earned your share of green checks. But, you show up every day and stick to your guns no matter how many red checks against you. i know some show up everyday just to argue with you. Without two sides to an issue the website would be a pep rally and not a debate.

I almost always agree on the humor side.

I caught your comment about military service. Thank you for yours.

        Merry Christmas
