N.J.-based Bollinger Acquires Argent Professional Insurance Agency

Short Hills, N.J.-based insurance broker Bollinger acquired Argent Professional Insurance Agency in Warren, N.J.

Bollinger said the acquisition would help bolster its professional liability insurance brokerage business.

Bollinger has also formed a new professional liability division within its agency. In addition to acquiring Argent, Bollinger has also recently acquired other agencies with professional liability expertise, including The Woodland Group and Allied Insurance Services Agency.

“Having access to Bollinger’s resources helps ensure that our clients’ needs will be met for many years into the future,” said Brian Kern, co-founder of Argent. He said his firm’s clients continue to expand geographically, and diversify into new areas with new exposures.

Bollinger is one of the country’s largest privately owned insurance agencies. The firm offers services in: personal insurance; commercial property/casualty insurance; life, health and financial services; employee benefits; sports programs; golf, country and city clubs; student insurance; broker products; and risk management services. It has 500 employees, placing $1 billion of insurance premiums.

Argent was founded in 2009 by Henry Kane and Brian Kern. It focuses on professional liability insurance for physicians and healthcare facilities, accountants and attorneys.
