Workers’ compensation insurance provider BrickStreet Insurance has acquired a Pennsylvania workers’ compensation company.
Charleston, W.Va.-based BrickStreet announced its acquisition of Canonsburg, Penn.-based PennCommonwealth Casualty of America Corp. Details of the deal weren’t released.
The West Virginia Legislature created BrickStreet in 2005 to replace a state-run workers’ compensation system. BrickStreet spun off as private company the following year. It was West Virginia’s only private workers’ compensation carrier until 2010 when the market was opened to competitors.
