Apparently, she had heard that she couldn’t be turned down for coverage. There was the case last year in the Joplin tornado that a Homeowner who had no coverage tried to get coverage as the storm was bearing down on his home. He did not succeed and lost his home. He had been rolling the dice for a few years, but mistakenly thought he could get it in the last second. Good for the agent who did not take his call.

I am glad a criminal complaint was filed. I hope they throw the book at her, but in Philadelphia she will probably get probation. I wonder what will go on her MVR, if anything. Anyone writing coverage for her would be a fool. She should have her license lifted and treated like a multiple DUI.

Obamajoke-care will be just as unprofitble as selling auto insurance AFTER the car accident.

Allowing people to buy health insurance and cover all conditions without any waiting period will clearly allow for fraud.

But, on this idiot’s legislation, is it fraud? Why buy insurance until you need it?

If I am unemployed what are my penalties for not paying for obamacare?

NONE, so I will clearly only buy it when I get cancer.

Those who wait until they get cancer are rolling the dice. When insurance is purchased, it will not retroactively cover medical bills previously incurred. What if you need emergency surgery? Purchasing insurance after the fact can cost you thousands.

Obamacare cannot be compared to this story. Pre-existing health conditions are completely different than pre-existing damage on a vehicle. Diabetes, heart defects, etc cannot typically be “fixed” and forgotten. Many of these conditions are chronic and those with them should not be penalized by not being able to find affordable coverage.

    Hi fellow commentators…

This article is relating to her private passenger vehicle policy and her lack of full coverage. This article is NOT pertaining to health insurance.

In my subjective opinion, if this lady “reported a claim to her insurance company in an attempt to have damages to her vehicle paid and lied to the company about when the accident occurred, saying that it happened after she obtained the additional coverage to her policy” then she is guilty. There is no question of her guilt.

“The Lifeline Program was created in 1984 by the FCC under Ronald Reagan, and updated in 1996. It allows for low-income households to receive telecommunication services at affordable rates. Thus they will not be cut off from basic communication services that everyone depends on to live a safe, productive life.”

As I recall, cell phones weren’t around in 1984. You mentioned they could receive devices at affordable rates. Does that mean free or did they have to pay something for a phone? Now, they get everything free. They get food stamps, welfare, disability, housing allowance all on our dime. The entitlement crowd’s expense to the taxpayers now exceeds Social Security and you and Planet just accept the new normal. By the way Planet, you have a real talent for giving the goofiest reply on this forum. You have no equal in this regard. It is a good thing we only have a few more weeks of this and we can start the process of rebuilding this great country.

You are right about one thing Libby. It will be exciting in a couple of weeks. We will be rid of the worst President in our adult lifetimes. In his own words, he said that if a candidate had no record to run on and was behind in the polls, he would resort to name calling and the politics of personal destruction. That is exactly what your guy is doing and even using nasty words like B— Sh—– in front of young people. That is real Presidential, don’t you think? Gee, I wonder why the women have flocked over to Romney this month and is a virtual tie in every major poll when Obama had a big lead with them the first of October. Perhaps the War on Women campaign was not so effective afterall. Also, the Independent vote is about 12% more in favor of Romney. Many polls are skewed and creative math is being used to show it is within the margin of error. Sorry to tell you and Planet that the folks will be voting with their pocketbooks this time and your guy has been a disaster for 4 years. No need for 4 more years of this nonsense.

Look at the link I’ve provided and actually read it. By the way, what little ones were around during that Rolling Stone interview when he used that word? He wasn’t in a classroom. By the way, it’s not unprecedented:

            (from Eurweb.com)
President Obama is not the first candidate to curse: then-candidate George W. Bush called New York Times reporter Adam Clymer a “major league asshole” over a hot mic, to which vice-presidential nominee Dick Cheney agreed.

FFA, you are so right. In my first year in the business, back in 1977, I had an attorney call me and cancelled his flood insurance even though he lived on the coast. That winter we had a big storm and he sustained flood damage. He called me to report the damage, and I reminded him that he dropped the coverage. No problem. The next day he called to tell me that all of his property was stolen.

Jeff, I am surprised the attorney didn’t call you to tell you he was suing you for cancelling his coverage without his permission. You apparently document well as we do. When a customer calls to cancel coverage or to delete an auto etc., we send them a form to sign so they can’t come back on us. We don’t like to write or deal with any attorney’s since they think they are entitled and have no problem taking an agent to court. Usually, they try to browbeat a settlement out of an agent or company.

Jeff, Agents who have been in business for a while are faced with situations like this that make us scratch our head. I quoted a car dealer some years ago ( I won’t ever quote one again). I had a better program than the current agent and improved coverage and saved him money. The owner fiddled around and couldn’t make a decision. About a week after expiration, he called me and wanted to start the coverage. The only problem was that he had a brand new car stolen off the lot and wanted to know if I could cover it. Isn’t that a fine how do you do? I politely told him he needed to report the claim to his current carrier. I never heard from him again.

Trust me FFA, a marriage with Libby wouldn’t make it past the honeymoon. The only way you could make a go of it would have a pre nup with strict language that politics would never be discussed in the household, trips or anywhere else. You could never bring up any criticism of a corrupt Democratic politician in any way, because Libby would tear you a new one. Since you live in Chicago, you pretty much do that every day. So much for that idea.

By the way, Romney gave a major speech in Iowa today before a large crowd and was interrupted numerous times by thunderous applause. I know Iowa has a lot of people of your ilk there, but apparently there are a lot that want the country to turn away from the disastrous last 4 years. Leave FFA out of this discussion. He has some big burdens to bear trying to make a go of it in the armpit of America, Chicago. They have one big scandal one after another and it has to be a very depressing place to live.

Yeah, that speech was in Ames at a place called Kinzler Construction. You might like this fact about Kinzler:

Ames, Iowa (CNN) – The owner of an Iowa construction company where Mitt Romney will deliver a speech on the economy received stimulus funds – Kevin Kinzler, owner of Kinzler Construction Services, received a $1.25 million dollar loan from the Small Business Administration through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in May of 2009, shortly after the stimulus plan was signed into law by President Obama.

Oh, and today, according to the IL Dept. of Employment Security, unemployment in every metropolitan area (I am pretty sure that includes Chicago) in IL in September are now at their lowest rates since before the 2008 economic collapse.

Yes, murder continues to be a problem in Chicago. Just like racism continues to be a problem in The South. Or, on FoxNation.com.

Yes Libby, I can tell the difference between cheering and applause and thunder unlike you and Planet. Crowds attending Romney speeches are far more enthusiastic than the somber smaller crowds at the Obama rallies to hear small ball, save Big Bird and call Romney names. That is probably due to Romney having a plan to recover the country rather than the President’s agenda of more of the same failed policies we have had for 4 years.

Libby, that is a good plan for your marriage. I am lucky that my wife is just as Conservative as I am. It is 2-0 when we vote against liberals. In fact we have no one in our entire family of the liberal persuasion. That is how we were raised and what we believe in. It is a real shame that this country is so divided ideologically. I am a Constitutional Republic guy who happens to believe the founding fathers were very wise when they formed this country and they were afraid of what it might become (which it is very close to now) so they tried their best to have a limit to the size of government and had separate, but equal branches so one would not run roughshod over the others. What we have now is an Exceutive Branch that thinks it is more equal than the others and that has to change or we lose the country we love.

It doesn’t help when we are just as bad, or worse, than they are.

I do see the comparison to Obamacare and health insurance pre-exs. It is related through one part of the 5 things that need to exsist for insurance to work, fortuitous loss. However, I am not going to say they are exatly the same and in fact this case is more about good faith in insurance than fortuitous loss but there are similarities. Foruitous loss is an important part of insurance, inclusing health insurance.

You don’t seem to know the difference between the baseball Cubs and the Bulls which tells me you aren’t a sports fan at all. Perhaps you should ask FFA about business in Chicago. They are shutting down big time due to their horrible Mayor and Governor, excessive taxation, numerour scandals like the Transit Authority ripping off the Feds on subsidies to the tune of $150 million. Their answer to the murder rate is to tax each bullet sold by $.05 and each gun sold for $25. That ought to slow down the gangs committing all the drive by murders, right? We musn’t insist that the Police do their jobs and go after the gangs, right?

Actually Libby, I believe the Agriculture Dept is on the list of Departments that will see some big cuts in their budget under Romney and paying farmers subsidies for not growing crops is a disaster that has been going on far too long. This country could have been exporting crops and helping the balance of payments with other countries. They have also been complicit in spiraling prices on corn by subsidizing for Ethanol. If we didn’t have this damaging additive in our gasoline, prices would be lower for fuel and corn products would be less expensive. I know this is hard for your liberal brain to absorb since it is economics.

Sandra Fluke had a big rally in Reno a couple of weeks ago and drew 9 or 10 people counting the camera man. In Denver, perhaps the altitude caused some of your people to inflate the attendance. This argument is crossing into three forums. Less then a week away from being over – thank GOD!

It always turns into the same argument and I doubt that will change after the election. Some people, like Agent and I, are hardwired that way.

Well you wont have this to argue about. Can move on to something new, better, exciting. Me,i’m Sick of the whole thing actually. Nobody is changing any minds. Insults. Foul mouths. Bully Tactics. Censorship (hiding posts), braggin rights over IQ’s. Can you honestly say that we as a country are better off then we were 4 years ago?
I was informed today that another occupant in my building is closing his doors after 20+ years. Both over 50. Both need health insurance. They wont find a job. Two more on the unemployment line. Most likely, two more homes in foreclosure.

I’ll be happy when 2012 is in the rear view mirror.

FFA, We all knew this was going to be the nastiest election season in the history of the country. When you have nasty politicians in office, a media for the most part either not reporting the news or skewing it to the left point of view, there is going to be trouble. This is a battle for the hearts and minds of America. It is a clear choice between Progressive Socialism and a nanny state or Constitutional Government of We the People and holding our politicians accountable. It looks like we have had enough of this and we just need to let them go like Clint Eastwood has said. I will be very happy when this election is over and we can start the rebuilding process.

It has not disappointed. Nasty, mud slinging, lies, disrespect, screw the people.
Just got my statement from my big carrier. Charge Backs galore! Any ideas on where I can get my hands on a few grand? I still have one part timer to pay in addition to my (un)affordable health insurance not to mention rent, phone, e&o.

Hmmmm, make your daughter and son pay rent? That would be a start.

Good therory. Son flipped me money this week. I know he has been pounding the pavement too. Daughter – I gave up. Lost cause. One father has not been heard from in months. The other is just a low life.

Hey Libby, Agent and Captain Planet, can you tell me where I can get a job like yours? Seems you have alot of time on your hands.

Are you out of work B? I am the man and the employer. I do this for stress relief and put out my Conservative opinions and laugh at the goofy remarks coming from Planet. He is an employee and is robbing his employer of work time. If I was his employer, I would be carrying a cardboard box into him and cleaning out his desk. I am sure they have no clue about what he is doing on their time.

How did the discussion go from insurance fraud to politics once again? Fraud is fraud and the non-renewal for Fraud should show up on the CLUE OR MVR!!

If this woman bothers to try to get insured after her policy is non-renewed for cause, only the excess market would take her for minimum limits. I would hope there would be something on the Clue about this travesty.
