After this coming to the surface and the recent coverage of banks/mortgage cos holding up the process, it appears that a certain New Jersey Governor opened his mouth and spewed a crock of lies. I’m sure his apology is right around the corner.
Comrade it sure doesn’t seem like lies. It seems like other than Allstate, the WYO carriers aren’t doing a very good job. To have only half of your claims closed at this point in time is completely horrible service, period. If Allstate can manage to close 94% of their claims, while following exactly the same process as everyone else, then that means something is just wrong at Travelers, Hartford, and Selective. I wonder where Fidelity stands….
What it comes down to is money. There are a limited number of people that work in the flood industry on a full time basis so to bring in the amount of manpower that is really needed to handle this many claims means that no profits for the companies that do so.
