    I’m honestly surprised this didn’t happen sooner. Unfortunately, unless the court decides that each shooting is a separate occurrence, the HO policy probably won’t provide much compensation to the families.

    Wow, a lawyer actually said up-front that the amount is symbollic. That’s cuz he knows he’ll receive the bulk of it, not the injured parties.

      Then he tries to play it off as “it serves as an important reminder that people who keep firearms in the home must be scrupulous about securing their weapons”. Actually, it would serve to send the message that if you are not “scrupulous about securing” your weapons that the Homweowners insurance will cover it, while he’s laughing all the way to the bank. Just another crooked rich-boy lawyer driving up the cost of insurance.
