Philadelphia Insurance Companies Announces 4 Promotions

Philadelphia Insurance Companies, a Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania-based commercial property/casualty and professional liability insurance company for niche markets, promoted Laura Boylan to vice president of Human Resources. The company is also promoting George Shalick to vice president and Julie Perkins and Lorri King to the positions of assistant vice president in the Underwriting Department.

Boylan started with Philadelphia Insurance in 2006 as the sole HR business partner and has since held several roles including HR manager and most recently, assistant vice president. Over the past three years, her key responsibilities have increased to include oversight and direction of the entire HR Department.

Schalick began his insurance career in 2002 as an underwriting trainee in Philadelphia Insurance’s Management and Professional Liability Underwriting Division. Schalick was promoted to assistant vice president in 2007 and is responsible for the M&PL Division in the Eastern Territory.

King joined Philadelphia Insurance in 2004 as a senior underwriter in the Human Services Division. King is product manager of the mental health product. She attained the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter designation and is a member of the CPCU Society.

Perkins started her career at Philadelphia Insurance in 2009 in the Commercial Lines Underwriting Division for the Central Region. She has previously supervised the region’s Small Business Unit and most recently the National Processing Center Underwriting team. Perkins holds several designations including her CPCU, ARM, AIM, AU, AIC, INS, AINS, SM, and AIS.
