Notice that Silver’s political affiliation is not mentioned until 10 paragraphs into the story, while Skelos is described as “…GOP Senate leader” before his name is even mentioned. Typical media bias.
krispy84, I noticed the same thing. New York is very similar to Illinois in the number of corrupt Democrats who have been in charge for years. New York keeps electing these criminals to office. They get what they deserve. Is it any wonder that New York is losing good people to greener pastures south?
Who would have thought it possible; a career politician convicted for using his own political power for personal enrichment?
Pardon the sarcasm.
Don’t expect any improvement in the governing body with Silver’s conviction. Just like rust, political corruption never sleeps. This abuse of the public trust will never end as long as we have career politicians, even with term limits as some states have. They just term out and go to another position on the power pyramid.
With rare exception the term Honest Politician is an oxymoron.
