Cooperative insurer Ontario Insurance Company has launched a new insurance program for craft brewers and distillers in New York State. Dubbed the “Craft Brewer’s Kit,” the new insurance offering works with craft beverage producers in addressing the needs and changing regulations of the industry.
Ontario Insurance Co.’s coverage was designed to be customizable to fit each brewer’s needs. It typically includes protection against general liability losses, property losses, food contamination, as well as damage to foundations and underground pipes, and property in transit.
According to The New York State Brewers Association, the number of New York State breweries grew from 95 in 2012 to 240 in 2015. In 2015, New York was ranked the fifth-largest beer producing state in the U.S.
Ontario Insurance Company represents over 130 independent agency locations throughout New York State.
