    There is no such thing as accidentally pulling a trigger. This officer was negligent as his or her finger should have never been on the trigger unless the officer intended to discharge the weapon. Guns do not kill people stupid people kill people.

    The article does not state if the officer was criminally charged or not but had it been a citizen you can bet they would have been.

    At least the police got $3.75 million for killing him. Or so the title can be read.

    You may wish to acquaint yourself with the entire story. It’s easy to play armchair quarterback when it comes to second-guessing the police during a tense raid.

    They of course are going to have their hand on the trigger when seconds count. The defense has stated, and I don’t believe this was contradicted, that the officer tripped causing the gun to go off. If accurate, I would classify this as an accident.

    I would classify that as stupidity & the officer’s action as inept!
