At the recent Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut (PIACT) annual business meeting, Peter Frascarelli, CPIA, of the Peter M. Bakker Agency of Avon, Conn., was named Professional Agent of the Year.
Frascarelli is the Chief Operating Officer of Bakker Agency Insurance & Financial Services, which was recently acquired by Renaissance Alliance of Wellesley, Mass.
PIACT said in a statement that the Professional Agent of the Year award is designated annually to “a professional, independent agent who has demonstrated excellence and achievement in insurance marketing and service; has shown a personal commitment to professionalism; and has contributed to PIA and the community.”

“Peter has demonstrated a deep level of dedication to our industry and his community,” said Kenneth A. Distel, newly elected president of PIACT, in making the award. “He has earned the respect and trust of his colleagues, customers and neighbors. PIACT is honored to give him this award.”
An active member of PIACT since 1990, Frascarelli has served on virtually every PIACT committee, PIACT said in a statement. He was elected to the board of directors of PIACT and has held every officer position of the association, including president in 2014. Frascarelli currently is a member of the Legislative/Business Issues Committee. In his community, Frascarelli has served as a member of the Fairfield University Alumni Association and the Cheshire Land Trust, according to PIACT.
