Rarely have I read a story with so much spin (pun intended.

First of all, this was not a “very sophisticated drone” and so we can somehow pardon to an extent this accident. It was likely a $500 or $1000 consumer drone. If a military helicopter cannot protect itself against this, what about actual military drones that intentionally try to hit you?

As for lacking a radio beacon to wanr the Black Hawk, excuse me? I don’t think in real life enemy drones will thoughtfully provide warning beacons.

One of these days, we are going to see a drone bring down a commercial airliner.

You are absolutely right. Anyone using a drone should be held responsible for any improper or illegal use of a drone. Until then you will have these yahoos out there who know nothing and are very dangerous.
