Hartford InsurTech Hub, powered by Startupbootcamp, has announced a partnership with Crawford & Company, a publicly listed independent provider of claims management to insurance companies and self-insured entities.
The partnership was formed through Crawford Innovative Ventures LLC, an entity created by Crawford & Company in 2016 to invest in strategic acquisitions and partnerships.
Crawford & Company joins the list of insurance players already partnered with Hartford InsurTech Hub, including Cigna, The Hartford, Travelers, USAA, White Mountains and CTNext.
By joining Hartford InsurTech Hub, Crawford & Company hopes to bring more innovation to the industry, find new ways to service clients more efficiently and create more value for claimants, according to a press release issued by Hartford InsurTech Hub.
Erika Bothma, program director of Hartford InsurTech Hub, said in the press release that the collaboration with Crawford & Company will add claims management capabilities to its roster of partner expertise.
The announcement comes as the InsurTech program recently welcomed the first group of startups in Hartford, Conn., with 10 teams from five countries: Australia, Canada, India, Singapore and the U.S. The 2018 cohort provides a range of insurance solutions using artificial intelligence (AI), big data analytics and natural language processing combined with cyber security, smart home and health insurance.
