Damage to Homes, Large Hail Reported in Pennsylvania After Severe Storms

Severe storms swept through Pennsylvania and several tornadoes were reported, causing damage to some homes but no immediate reports of injuries.

Emergency dispatchers in eastern Pennsylvania’s Berks and Chester county reported roof damage and some partial collapses in Caernarvon Township, which includes Morgantown.

WFMZ-TV reported several homes in the township’s Valley Ponds development badly damaged and quoted the president of the homeowners association as saying that about 70 percent of the homes were still livable.

The Reading Eagle reported damaged cars from downed trees. Some areas of the county, including downtown Reading, reported hail the size of a ping pong ball.

Tornadoes were reported near Clarks Summit in Lackawanna County and in Indiana County.
