Authorities said nine people were injured, two seriously, after an explosion Thursday at a three-story New York City residence that blew out windows and sent a door flying into power lines.
The report of an explosion on Paulding Avenue in the Bronx came in just before 3:30 p.m., the Fire Department of New York said.
The FDNY said the two people in serious condition were taken to the hospital, as were six other people with minor injuries, including a firefighter. One person refused medical attention at the scene.
Engineers from the city Department of Buildings were on the scene for a structural stability inspection.
