North Haven-based Trager Reznitsky Insurance has acquired the property/casualty business of another Connecticut independent agency, Stronghold Insurance LLC, in Shelton.
This is the first acquisition for Trager Reznitsky and it will allow it to expand its operations beyond Connecticut to Indiana, Colorado, New York and Massachusetts, according to Eugene Reznitsky, principal, commercial lines at Trager Reznitsky.
It will also allow the agency to offer health insurance by partnering with the health insurance arm of Stronghold Insurance.
The acquisition will take effect this month.
As part of the agency’s growth strategy, the business is currently expanding its office from 1,400 square feet to more than 6,000 square feet of space.
Trager Reznitsky is a member of Satellite Agency Network Group, Inc. (SAN), the largest alliance of agencies in the Northeast, and the founding master agency of SIAA.
Trager Reznitsky Insurance is headquartered in North Haven and has a second office in Branford.
