Victor, a global managing general underwriter (MGU), is expanding its underwriting capabilities into the reinsurance market. The firm announced it has acquired the business of Regional Treaty Services Corp. (RTSC), a Newport, Rhode Island-based, privately-held reinsurance MGU.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 2003, RTSC underwrites and manages three reinsurance facilities for small to midsize U.S.-based insurers primarily writing personal lines, small agriculture and main street commercial business.
John Pfautz, founder of RTSC, will join Victor, continuing in his current duties and report to Brian Hanuschak, CEO of Victor Insurance Holdings.
Victor Insurance Holdings, which is MGU for insurance broker Marsh, has locations in the U.S., Canada, UK, Netherlands, Italy, and Australia. It handles more than $2.5 billion in premium. Victor’s global businesses include ICAT, Dovetail,and Victor International.
