Glastonbury, Connecticut-based Smith Brothers Insurance has expanded its presence into western Connecticut with the acquisition of independent insurance agency Norcom Insurance in Avon, effective July 1.
According to the announcement, Wes Horbatuck, Norcom president, will continue to lead business development and serve clients along with six Norcom Insurance team members who are joining Smith Brothers.
Smith Brothers, founded in Hartford in 1971 by brothers Bob and Brian Smith, has acquired 27 agencies over the years and currently has locations in Connecticut, (9) Massachusetts (3), New Jersey (1), and New York (3).
Joe B. Smith is the president and chief executive officer of Smith Brothers. The firm provides insurance products and risk management services for families and business.
