The Economical Insurance Group, the sixth largest property and casualty insurer in Canada, will acquire Hartford Insurance Company of Canada, a subsidiary of The Hartford Financial Services Group.
Economical aims to pick up marketshare in the small commercial business arena and hopes to access to Hartford’s Canadian customers who have exposures in the U.S.
